About Us

Jeff Stahl never envisioned owning one of Charleston's largest home building companies when he began in 1998. As a successful businessman, he simply wanted to build a few houses to rent. Even before the homes were completed, people wanted to buy them; thus began Jessco Homes.

Jessco stands for Jesus' Company. Anyone who knows Jeff knows that he loves the Lord and has dedicated his life, family and business to Jesus Christ.

Shortly after beginning Jessco, Jeff's brother Steve came on board as his partner. Their plan was simple: build homes for others the way they would build their own.

When other contractors were building stripped -down houses and making everything an option, the Stahl brothers loaded their houses with standard features and higher quality materials. Buyers noticed dozens of extras like brick fronts, fireplaces, upgraded appliances and jetted tubs. As word got out, Jessco Homes were selling as fast as they could be built with almost no advertising being done.

Today, Jessco and its subsidiaries directly employ over 50 people. They also provide hundreds of jobs through the use of sub-contractors. Jeff and Steve recognize God's hand in building this company. They have committed labor and funds to building churches as well as contributing to other benevolent programs. Steve has joined the pastoral staff of Pointe North Community Church in Moncks Corner but is still active in management decisions.
